Some common questions

We've gathered the answers to questions we're asked most about the Emails2Mail service. If you still need some help contact us.

  • What is Emails2Mail?
    It is a way to send messages to prisoners easily, quickly and securely, helping them maintain contact with the outside world and lifting their spirits.
  • How does the Emails2Mail service work?
    Essentially, you type a message into our online service, we store and then send it securely the same working day, and it reaches its destination within 24 hours (subject to the prison’s own mail handling process). There’s more on how it works here.
  • How do I find the correct address?
    To find the address for any prison in the UK use the Government’s Prison Finder
  • Can a message be cancelled once it has been sent?
    Due to the quick turnaround of our service this may not be possible, but we’ll always do our best to help. Please email info@emails2mail.com as soon as possible and we’ll do what we can to cancel any unsent messages.
  • Why hasn’t my message been delivered?
    All messages are sent within three working hours, to arrive within 24 hours. At weekends or bank holidays the receiving establishment may not process them immediately. If the message hasn’t been received after three working days, please contact us. In the unlikely event of a system error any unsent messages will be resent free of charge.
  • Can I change the email address on the account?
    Only one email address can be registered on the account at a time. To change it, please email the new address to info@emails2mail.com For security reasons the request to change must come from the email address currently registered on the account or we’ll be unable make the change.
  • Can I change the delivery address?
    Yes. To change the delivery address, select when logged into your account and make the changes.
  • Can I change the inmate number?
    Yes, you can. Just select the address book and update the inmate number there.
  • How do I change my password?
    To change your password, log into your account and select the password change option.
  • Can I change my plan?
    At the end of your current plan you can choose a different plan to increase or decrease the time period it covers and the cost. See all available plans on the Plans and pricing page.
  • How do I cancel my account?
    You can cancel your account any time by emailing info@emails2mail.com and we’ll close the account. Please note, once a plan has been paid for we’re unable to issue a refund for any time for the period it covers.
  • Can I book a prison visit?
    Emails2mail is purely a messaging service. If you wish to book a visit contact the prison directly or ask the inmate to advise you of their prison’s procedure. You may also be able to find details on the HM Prison & Probation Service page
